Wasatch Back Relay 2008!!!    Runner #2

First Leg 6.7 Miles. Temp 98 degrees.  My start time 3:30 pm.  Hottest race I have ever done. Shoes on fire on hot pavement.  I drank too much water which slowed me down.  I was glad to have this leg over with.  Passed a few people.

Avg. Pace:  7:21  Time 49:13

Second Leg 3 Miles.  Temp Good!  My Start time was 10:31 pm. Ahh running in the dark with a head lamp.  I think that I just barely got warm by the time that I was done.  This was an easy leg.  Passed a bunch of  people.  Managing your pace in the dark is a little bit deceiving.  This was a good leg.

Wasatch Back!!!!    Runner #2

Ahh my third and final leg.  I was pretty tired after only 2 hours of sleep I didn't want to get out of the van.  This leg is what made doing it all worth while.  This leg was from Oakley to Kamas at 5:30 AM.  It was beautiful out there the sun was coming up and shining  on the back side of Timp, the snow that was still on the back was bright pink from the sunlight. The Farmers had their sprinklers going out on their fields it was quiet all you could hear was the sprinklers spraying it was great.  The air out there was crisp and clean, I know it's weird but I even enjoyed the smell of manure out there. I made the most out of my final leg I tried to encourage as many of the many runners that I passed.  I was hooting and hollering saying "lets go, last leg, this is great out here."  I loved this last leg it was great it was so beautiful.

Avg. Pace 7:11   Time 38:04

Did I mention that it is hard to run three races in a 24 hour period.

The Wasatch Back went really well. My team finished 8th overall we finished in 20 hours and 57 minutes.
